WSS Continues Effort to Benefit Camp Anchor

On April 4th Camp Anchor held its 2nd Annual Walk-A-Thon. This is the second of several events which will allow Washington Street School to support Camp Anchor in its goal of building a permanent facility, thus allowing them to provide year round services and programs for students with disabilities.

  1. Another inspiring act of caring by Washington Street School. Dr. Butera and his staff exemplify the path all elementary schools should be taking in teaching their students about good character. I commend his leadership, and that of teachers such as Mrs. Drosman and Mrs. Rudolph, throughout this worthwhile initiative.

  4. We are blessed to live in the Town of Hempstead where our doughter can attend John Street School and benefit from the wonderful opportunities offered by our school distric and Camp Anchor. Many of Washingto Street School students walk past our home not knowing that their help makes programs available to enrich our daughter, their neighbor. Thanks for teaching generosity of spirit.

  5. That walk was a lot of fun! It was really windy and Marisa and I(Marie)got scratched bu the banner but it was all worth it. We helped raise money for camp anchor and thats all that matters. I miss WSS a lot and the great people in it and i miss how WSS helped with camp anchor and autism. I still remember the day that Me(marie) and marisa went to Dr.Butera and other teachers and presented out walk for autism ideas. That was such a great day.
