The first grade students at Washington Street School were asked to do small chores at home to help raise money for the Newsday Charities Help-A-Family Fund for this holiday season. Through their hard work and combined efforts, they were able to raise $247.00. This amount will be matched 50 cents per dollar by the McCormick Foundation. The first grade teachers would like to thank all the children for working together to help a needy family at this time of year. We are proud of you all!
